I am doing the The Walk to End Alzheimer’s again this year . It is currently scheduled for September. Of course the date could change due to Covid-19 but fingers crossed it can happen even if all of us have to wear masks.
I have a maternal grandmother and great aunt who died from the disease. And last July my Mom’s neurologist changed her diagnosis from a cognitive impairment to mild Alzheimer’s.
Sadly with Covid-19, the activities that my Mom was doing to remain active came to a halt. And as a result she declined so much she will have to move into Jill’s House. (It is a memory care and assisted living facility located near Meadowood).
I have updated my ask on my ALZ.org 2020 page and I hope to raise money on it to the growing pot the Office Easel Team has and help it reach it’s $2500 goal. If you do not want to donate please consider joining the Walk to End Alzheimer’s where you live.
Everyday someone gets a diagnosis of one of thirteen different types of dementia including Alzheimer’s.
As I wrote last year and it is still true now, there is no way to know yet what the future may hold for my health or my older brother. And while I will keep donating to alz.org, I also wish to keep putting my feet to the pavement for a good cause.
