Refuge in Hell tells the story of a Jewish hospital in Berlin that kept working despite the Nazis’ reign until April of 1945.
The doctors, surgeons and nurses kept giving care & aid to those who entered despite it’s doors in spite of the Nazis who resided in part of the hospital or made visits to it.
In addition to care, the staff made parts of the hospital a refuge for mix religious couples, their children, and the elderly among others. Trying to prevent as many of them including hospital staff from being taking away by the Nazis.
This true story is informative, complex, scary, and engaging. If you have not known about this book it is worth finding.
