The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is not a new event to me. One of my Uncles who lives in Newport Beach, has participated in it for years.

And I have a maternal grandmother and great aunt who died from the disease. On July 31st, my Mom’s neurologist changed her diagnosis from a cognitive impairment to mild Alzheimer’s.

In the past, I have given donations to alz.org but this year when my Network Today International group said they want to do the walk this year, I chose to sign up for it. And so far I will be walking with Kathryn Sandefur of Young Living and Joy Johnson Dorsey of Meineke.

(Network Today International began with Rich Deforest in Tennessee who created the largest professional community that spans several states. And, Penny Buhr, The Bra Lady began the group I am in last year and today is the one year anniversary.)

Next, I found my group’s page on alz.org then I wrote my story, and I made a personal donation $100. As a whole NTI wants to raise $2000 by September 15th, 2019, the day we walk. I have made a change to my Facebook banner and linked the NTI group alz.org page to my Facebook page plus I have begun to do posts.

Everyday someone gets a diagnosis of one of thirteen different types of dementia including Alzheimer’s.

There is no way to know yet what the future may hold for my health or my older brother and while I can keep donating to alz.org, I thank my NTI group for finally getting me to put my feet to the pavement.
