Connor Kay never got over the harsh physical and psychological abuse his mother inflicted on him especially confinement in very tight spaces. He recreates these events with each young person he kidnaps. Kay’s latest victim, or charge as he refers to them, is 19-year-old university student Amanda Collins . He holds her in a narrow crate as a form of twisted behavioral reform. The detectives trying to solve her abduction keep running into dead ends. Meanwhile Kay’s girlfriend Elaina Montero is becoming increasingly concerned about Connor’s radical change in behavior and long absences. She becomes so terrified that she begins to think he might have followed in his mother’s footsteps after all. Will Elaina gain the courage to turn to the police or will Connor keep alluding the authorities?
It has been a while since I have spoken about the new manuscript I am working on. The last time I mentioned it was in an interview coordinated by Enchanted Book Promotions . I do admit in this interview, which you can read here, I was vague about my manuscript. At the time I wasn’t sure if I would complete it but at the same time I didn’t want to fib about my new project either.
Now I feel comfortable enough with where I am with the manuscript to tell you about it. It’s an abduction story titled “The Keeper”. Originally I had my mind-set on beginning a time travel series. However, I couldn’t stop thinking about two news stories about kids going missing. Before I knew it my inner muse thought of a story and I got to typing it. By July I had the first draft done and began the first rounds of rewrites then I decided to lengthen the story. I completed this work by early August and have since been fine tuning the manuscript.
Below is the draft description of what the manuscript is about:
By spring of next year I’d like to ask two friends who helped me with my earlier books to read “The Keeper” manuscript and give me feedback. Then sometime after that I’d like to work with a proofreader. The one I hired to help me with Between Two Worlds, proved essential and offered valuable help I couldn’t have done without. I am hoping for a repeat experience with this manuscript. After I am finished working on my manuscript and have it published as an e-book, I will take out my time travel series outline and get writing.
