Hasting and Dory have continued to bond and have become best friends. Each likes to play with the other ie chase the yarn on a green pole, wrestle, or chase down the hall and around other parts of the house. Each cat has a weak bite, and if things get rough one of them will walk away from a tussle without the other trying to entice the other to get back to it.
They also take turns grooming each other just the head and neck. Dory does not purr when she cleans Hastings but he purrs when he cleans her. I do not know why but perhaps it has to do with the short time they have been together but they still sniff noses and rears.
Further, they take turns sleeping on the bed next to me at night while the other peers out the window sill or hides under the guest bed. Each can be “little elephants” if they choose to run at night then I tend to lack sleep. I will eventually not notice and sleep the whole night blissfully not being aware of the who buddies are up to.
It is kismet – Hastings and Dory are meant to be together and I am blessed to be caring and loving both of them.
